Humanoids getting recent mainstream interest

Lisette Pagler as the humanoid Anita in 'Äkta människor'

Frank & Robot” is a new movie at the Sundance Film Festival 2012 in Park City, Utah. It’s directed by Jake Schreier and is about an old ex-thief being taken care of by a robot nurse.

And a couple of days ago the first episode of the Science Fiction TV Series “Äkta människor” (Real People), produced specifically for Swedish Television SVT, was shown.

Just two picks that hint at a wakening interest for robots and humanoids in mainstream media. Of course we’ve seen a lot of it before, especially in movies, but I didn’t actually expect the small Swedish SVT to get into science fiction yet.
